Kava is a drink prepared from the root of Piper methysticum, a plant cultivated across Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and the wider Pacific. The root is ground, kneaded in water, strained, and shared.
Noble kava refers to the cultivars Pacific growers and drinkers have long selected for regular, sociable drinking. Our root is noble kava from Vanuatu.
No. Kava is a distinct plant, Piper methysticum, unrelated to kratom or cannabis.
Earthy, peppery and somewhat bitter. Most people drink it fairly quickly and follow with juice or fruit.
Preparing and serving
Start with about 1/2 teaspoon (roughly 1.5 g) per 1/2 cup of water, then adjust to taste on later rounds.
